Robert Currey
Robert Currey began his vocational teaching career at the Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill. In 1969 Robert’s public education career began at Mt. Joy Vocational Technical School as their first Masonry Instructor. During his first year at Mt. Joy, he joined VICA (now known as PA Skills USA) as an Advisor. He accompanied competitors to Regional, State and National competitions. One of his most accomplished students earned 2nd place in a National Masonry Competition!
Some of Robert’s involvements and achievements include: Granted an Internship with PA Department of Vocational Education. Member of the Committee which wrote and administered the Masonry Teacher’s Trade Competency Test for Penn State University. Secretary – PA Youth Development Foundation. Board of Directors – The Pennsylvania State Skills USA. Lifetime Achievement Award – Received from Central Region PA Skills USA
After his retirement from teaching, Robert continued to remain active on the Boards of both PA Skills USA and PA Youth Development Foundation.
Roberta DeProspero-Johnston
Roberta is a retired administrator whose been involved in the organization over fifty years. As a secondary member, she served as President of the Lawrence County AVTS Opening and Closing Ceremony Team that won a Gold Medal at the National Level.
A graduate of The Pennsylvania State with a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and a Master of Education in Workforce Education and Development, she was employed as a Cosmetology Instructor, Cooperative Education Coordinator, and CTE Supervisor at the Franklin County CTC. While earning her degree at Penn State University she served as National Chairperson of Collegiate VICA. A SkillsUSA Advisor for 33 years, she mentored many State Officers as well as State and National winners.
Roberta served two terms on the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Inc Board of Directors and was Leadership Contest Coordinator at the State Level for many years. In 2014, she received National Honorary Life Membership at the National Conference.
Currently, she serves as Treasurer to the Pennsylvania Youth Foundation, a member of the Planning Committee for the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Central Region Leadership Workshop, a member of the 1st Ed Credit Union Scholarship Committee and is a Lifetime Member of the Penn State Alumni Association.
Barbara Wible
Barbara had over twenty-five years of experience in the restaurant industry before becoming a Culinary Arts instructor. During her teaching career of more than twenty years, she has served as a school SkillsUSA advisor, served on the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Board of Directors as a Central Region Teacher Advisor, helped to facilitate Central Region Leadership Workshops and District and State Competitions, served on the National SkillsUSA Action Skills Committee, and was a Certified SkillsUSA Advisor Trainer. Upon her retirement from teaching, she served as the Food Service Director at a local Christian school and also started a small bakery business.
Mary Bokeko
Mary is retired from Verizon Wireless after 25 years in the Wireless Industry. She held various Technical Operations positions throughout her tenure with the company.
She is also the Proprietor of Mary’s Magick and The Managing Partner of SAAM Properties, LLC.
In her spare time, Mary is very active with Skills USA. She is a SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Alumni Association Life Member, Pennsylvania SkillsUSA Youth Foundation Board Member and PA SkillsUSA State Competition Cluster Chair. She serves on as an Operational Advisory Committee member for Marketing at Franklin County Career and Technology Center, is a member of the Franklin County Career and Technology Center Alumni Wall of Fame for distinguished Alumni and serves as a NOCTI Test Proctor for the Graphics Program. Mary is also a Penn State Alumni Association Life Member, Alliance of Therapy Dogs Therapy Team Owner and member of the emBARK Pet Therapy Team at Harrisburg International Airport, Universal Life Church Minister and former 18U Girls Softball Coach for The Marion Athletic Association.
